Perfectly Polished Tips 92 - BB Couture for Nails

I recently got to test out a polish brand that is new to me, BB Couture for nails. These polishes have a 4-in-1 formula and a motto of "just polish and go." BB Couture is free of toluene, formaldehyde, and DBP. Their formula is amazing, all of the polishes applied like a dream and they did dry fast. I don't use a base or top coat with my swatches and by the time I was finished photographing the swatch it was completely dry. They have some beautiful glitters and a green creme. Not Zulu status but you could probably tweak it a bit and have something close. Anyways on to pictures.

Hollywood Junk - a mix of stringy glitter and regular glitter. I apologize for the crappy state of my nails, i chewed them all off and they are stained beyond belief. And clearly I am not a pro at applying this type of glitter.

Blue Suede Shoes - excuse my typo! I edited these late last night. This polish is a blurple with baby blue shimmer. The shimmer is so intense that it just glows.

Karribean Kiersti is a foily blue with silver sparkles. It looks a lot nicer on the nail than in the bottle. If you click the picture you might see a bit more detail. This polish kind of reminds me of the illusive China Glaze Dorothy Who? but I don't think there will ever be a dupe of that one. I'm currently wearing this on my tips and I love it.

Prince Charming Blue - this is an intense almost neon blue with micro shimmer. It's like China Glaze Blue Sparrow with out the grittiness. This one is definitely a favorite.

Erotic Night is a dark plum jelly. As with most jellies it took 3 coats to be most even. I wasn't really going for perfection when I was swatching so there are a few bumpy areas. This color isn't unique but I really like the name.

Cash Black is a simple black creme. It took three coats as well which almost disappointed me. I think I needed to do thicker coats with this one and I didn't. The first coat was streaky, it was just okay after two and amazing at three. I think Lippmann Fade to Black is still my number one black creme but since BB Couture dries so quickly I don't think I'll have a problem using it.

This is BB Nail Couture Cash Black topped with one coat each of OPI Sapphire, OPI Shimmer, and BB Hollywood Junk. I posted swatches of the OPIs in my last post.

BB Nail Couture can be found at BBNailPolish.com or OverallBeauty.com. I believe one site has them for $8.95 and the other for $8. Overall Beauty is having a special right now for free shipping on orders over $35. Overall Beauty has more of the colors in stock, as the BB Couture site hasn't been updated recently.

Perfectly Polished Tips 74 - NYC Molten Metal

NYC has released a metallic shade called Molten Metal for fall, I believe as of right now it is a limited edition color. It has been spotted in various drug stores and Target. I wasn't able to find it here in upstate NY, but it might just not have made it here when I looked. I am usually not a fan of drug store polishes, but this one was too unique to pass up. It is very sheer though, my swatch is 3 coats and it was mostly opaque. It was slightly streaky though but it is a glitter polish.

While I do like it on it's own I decided to try a layering experiment. I put one coat of Molten Metal over two coats of China Glaze's Bermuda Breakaway. The result was interesting, I don't think it's too pretty but it's grown on me. I put it on two nights ago and I have zero tip ware and no chips. It's probably a combination of the polishes, I don't think I put a base coat on though, I don't remember. Here is the result of my layering experiment.

NYC polishes are usually $2-3 depending on where you get them. They can be found at various drug stores, Target, Walmart, and possibly KMart. I am not sure what the display for this one looks like because it was sent to me since I couldn't find it here.

Perfectly Polished Tips 57 - A Winner & Navy Oh Baby!

First off, I want to congratulate Christen - she is the lucky winner of my Lippmann polish give away. I really enjoyed doing that contest, I hope to do another soon!

Second, navy polish. I am a big blue wearer as most of you know. I love all shades of blue. My most recent quest was Sally Hansen Salon Navy Baby. It's a beautiful, shimmery navy but it is not blackened. Meaning you can tell that it is blue. I will admit that I am not big on drugstore nail polish. It costs more than buying the good stuff off line. Sallly Hansen's salon line might just be the exception. They apply wonderfully and have a nice brush. I'm not sure about wear time because I change polish so often. After I applied Navy Baby I felt like it needed something more. I pulled out Pure Ice Oh Baby, which is a purpley blue glitter top coat. Together they are amazing. I'm wondering what it would be like to franken them together. I would have to get another bottle of Navy Baby though because it's hot on it's own. So anyways here is the out come-

Alright, it looks much better in person, but you get the idea. I'm starting to branch out and actually enjoy layering and glitter. It gives me a whole new way to use my stash.

Perfectly Polished Tips 24 - Color Club Glitter Vixen

Color Club released this fun collection of seven glitters for all. These were a little bit of a pain to apply. One coat is too sparse and three coats is very thick and even a little goopy. I also swatched them over Lippmann's Fade to Black, and I prefer them over black to them on their own. However I am not as big of a glitter lover as some people are. In my pictures I used no top coat or base coat. I have read in other reviews that it took several coats of top coat to make the glitter smooth. I have Magic Attraction on my toes and it was good to go after one coat of Oh So Wet. I guess it depends on how you like your glitter. Anyways on to the pictures...1 coat of glitter over 1 coat of black and on their own they are 3 coats each.

Sex Symbol is pure silver bling. As I said before I like it layered better.

Tru Passion is a lovely light purple and my personal favorite of the bunch. Object of Envy is green and I know a lot of people have been waiting for it. It reminds me of Christmas time.

Sultry Diva is the gold shade of the bunch, it's not too yellow which I usually find to be a problem, however I still don't think it looks great on me. Magic Attraction is my 2nd favorite. I love the rainbow glitter in it.
Sexy Siren is a beautiful light blue and possibly another favorite. Last but not least is Art of Seduction, another red glitter. I'm not sure how it compares to China Glaze's Ruby Pumps because I don't have it but it looks very similar to Color Club Ruby Slippers, I will compare them another day.

Glitter Vixen can be found at 8ty8beauty.com. I also want to mention that I am not affiliated with and of the etailers that I mention here. I'm just a very happy customer! I hope every one is enjoying the holiday weekend!
