Perfectly Polished Tips 90 - Multi Colored Manicure

Here Miss Lohan is sporting what looks like (click on the picture to make it larger) a black manicure with pink polish on her middle fingers. A message to the photogs perhaps? Apparently the trend of putting a different color on one finger is becoming quite popular. Ladies on the MUA nail board have been doing it for a while and I believe there is a character on Ugly Betty who does it as well. Don't hold that to me though because I've never watched the show, it was just something I saw a photo of a while back.

I think this is a pretty nifty idea, the color combinations are endless, there is also the option of layering colors. I am too much of a perfectionist to do something like this though. I have to have all of my nails the same color and equal coverage. A big reason why I never do french manicures of any type or nail art. Yeah, I'm so boring I know.

What do you guys think of this nail trend? Would you wear it?

Perfectly Polished Tips 76 - Halloween Nails

When I first looked at this picture of singer M.I.A her nails were the first thing to pop out at me. To me they look like candy corn. Or maybe she is sporting a funky french. Either way it reminded me of Halloween. I don't really get into the holidays as much as some so I probably won't be doing a Halloween manicure. However I would love to see some, if you plan on doing one please share! I'm not sure if you can post it in the comments but you could email it to me and I could do a whole post on them. If anyone is interested please let me know!

Perfectly Polished Tips 63 - I've Got the Blues

Okay, so I'm trying to find a new look for my site. I'm not sure how I like this lay out but it will do until I have so more time to update. If there is anything you readers would like to see here please don't hesitate to ask! I'm open to pretty much all requests and suggestions.

Anyways, blue nails. It wasn't until I found my love for polish that I obsessively felt the need to check the finger tips of all women. Now the first thing I look for in pictures and in real life is nail polish color. I haven't seen any cool manicures in real life unfortunately. Some celebrities such as Rihanna and Christina Aguliera are known for their wild color choices while others such as Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester stick to neutrals.

I was so drawn to Xtina's nails in this picture that I didn't even notice the horror that is the rest of her. I'm not liking this transformation, honestly I miss her Dirrty days. Anyways, here she is wearing a bright blue polish which actually compliments her purple clutch and maybe the shirt. I instantly thought of China Glaze's Blue Sparrow which I will have to post pictures of soon. It's a neon with amazing glitter. Last year I would have never even considered wearing blue or glitter but now bring it on! If you aren't a glitter fan you could try something a little softer such as Color Club Jeweltone Blue or NYX Titanic. For cremes check out the post I made about China Glazes Bahama Blues collection. Bermuda Breakaway would be perfect.

Perfectly Polished Tips 28 - Fashion Rocks 2008 Nail Trends

Hey everyone, I am plagued with rain and clouds. I have a ton of stuff to swatch for you but no sun light. Hopefully I will have some new stuff up in the next couple of days. So for the time being I decided to show a couple of pictures from Fashion Rocks. I have Taylor Momsen, Miley Cyrus, and Lindsay Lohan.

Taylor Momsen, better known as Jenny from Gossip Girl rocked out with dark nails and new bangs. I couldn't find a close up of her nails but it appears that she is wearing either a gun metal/charcoal color or black. For the charcoal look try Color Club After Hours or Lippmann Hit Me With Your Best Shot. For glossy black goodness Color Club Black and Lippmann Fade to Black are both one coaters. It's so hard to believe that this girl is only 15 years old, she is goregous. Although I must say I am not a fan of the bangs.

While Taylor chose to go vampy Lindsay and Miley went neutral. It looks like Lindsay's tips might be naked and Miley may have a shimmery silver on. To get tips like Lindsay just remove polish and buff lightly. You could add a clear top coat for shine if you'd like. For Miley's silver tips I would go with Lippmann Stardust or Maybelline Silver Speed, one coat would probably do.

Perfectly Polished Tips 26 - Still Holding on to Summer

Seems as though I am not the only one still loving the fun bright summer colors. I often don't pay attention to what celebs are wearing on their nails but this picture caught my eye. I would think Xtina would be more of a vampy girl. Who knows...maybe she was trying to match her awful lipstick. That post is for another day though.

School officially started back up and to me the scent of autumn is in the air. I'm still sporting hot pink toe nails (Butter London Dolly Bird) and holding on to summer with all my might. Anyone else still rocking the brights?

To get Xtina's nail look try OPI I'm India Mood for Love. It might even be brighter than what is shown in the picture. The OPI was just the first that came to mind.
